JOSHUA DICKSTEIN, PT
Physical Therapist, Founder

Joshua Dickstein, PT, has been practicing physical therapy since 2002 after graduating from the University of Hartford. Early in his career, Josh worked in acute care at Sibley Memorial Hospital, where he gained perspective caring for patients across the full spectrum of recovery and developed a deep appreciation for meeting people where they are, especially during difficult moments in life.

Shortly after, Josh was given the opportunity to help build a physical therapy practice from the ground up within a boutique fitness setting. With very little experience and no established roadmap, he quickly learned that the only way to succeed was to understand the individual patient in front of him, listen carefully, think critically, and tailor treatment to that person’s specific needs rather than relying solely on standardized protocols.

In 2021, Josh founded Dickstein Physical Therapy in downtown Bethesda, where he focuses on complex orthopedic conditions, persistent pain, and challenging spine, hip, pelvic, and movement-related presentations.

Many patients come to Josh after feeling frustrated or stuck, often saying that for the first time someone truly listened, helped them understand where their symptoms were actually coming from, and treated the source of the problem rather than simply chasing symptoms.

Josh has lectured for community groups and professional organizations and remains deeply passionate about clinical problem-solving, differential diagnosis, and helping patients find answers when the path forward is not obvious.

SARAH KUZMACK, PT, DPT
Clinical Interest:
Vestibular Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Biomechanics

Sarah Kuzmack, PT, DPT, completed her physical therapy training at Boston University and has been practicing since 2016. Throughout her career, Sarah has developed a strong clinical focus in concussion rehabilitation, vestibular disorders, dizziness, gait and balance dysfunction, headaches, and temporomandibular disorders.

Sarah is known for her exceptional preparation, sharp clinical reasoning, and genuine commitment to understanding complex patient presentations. She has a natural ability to connect patterns across the vestibular, cervical, neurologic, and temporomandibular systems, especially in patients whose symptoms do not fit neatly into one diagnosis.

What sets Sarah apart is how personally she takes each patient’s recovery. She regularly continues thinking about difficult cases long after the clinic day ends, spending extra time reviewing research, revisiting clinical findings, and looking for answers when a patient’s presentation is especially challenging.

Patients often seek Sarah out for persistent dizziness, post-concussion symptoms, headaches, TMJ-related complaints, and balance disorders because of her ability to connect the dots, explain complex symptoms in a way patients understand, and help people regain confidence when they have struggled to find answers elsewhere.

Sarah brings a thoughtful, evidence-informed approach to every patient and is deeply committed to helping people feel understood, empowered, and capable of recovery.
